*Somehow, this post disappeared from my archive list and so rewriting this would be much easier if I hadn't deleted my note listing what happened at NZFW from my iCloud. No matter, I'll try and remember as many as I can. What you're reading now, I wrote on the 5th of January 2015.

After a roller coaster of a ride at NZFW, I finally compiled a list of interesting things that happened for my first week at the event. Every part of NZFW was fantastic, but there were just a few moments that made me think "Damn, I might as well leave now" so I'll let you into why I thought that. Nothing including rude people, everyone was graceful and composed, but me? Well that's a different story. Read on.

NZFW 2014: DAY 1 + BACKSTAGE

It was Tuesday, and also my my first day of NZFW - ever, so I really didn't know what to expect besides the fact that I was going to be stumbling around the venue trying to find where I'm supposed to be. If you asked me what it was like backstage, I'm just going to have to tell you to imagine yourself in a room full of people trying to take photos of each other, trying to capture a special moment; so as you can imagine it was a lot of flashing and shuffling. If you've ever been to a night market, it was exactly what it was like. The first show that I had went to was Shen, followed by the New Generation show (Amber Whitecliffe, Wendy Jared & Désirée), Lela Jacobs, Salasai and Trelise Cooper. As you can imagine, Fashion Weeks backstage area was very small but I hung around before and after the shows so that I could take it all in and capture moments for you as if you were there yourself. As a youngster that's never experienced this day, I was more than satisfied. Take a look into the world of NZFW.

New Zealand Fashion Week is just around the corner and it's pretty much time to start preparing for the hustle and bustle of the week. It was a long, long ride to get to where I am now so I'll let you in on how I managed to gained accreditation after being rejected and my schedule for the week. From the time I learnt that NZFW even existed, it's always been my goal to become a delegate. This was the first year I had applied for this and was also the first year I started to blog. I originally applied to become accredited as a blogger, however after a long 5 days of waiting for their reply, I had been rejected. Being someone that earns their own money and goes to school, NZD$50 was a lot of money, just think about all the food that I would be able to buy or what Karen Walker bracelet I'd be able to buy!? Anyway, that sent my confidence and life down the drain, but being someone where "giving up" is not in my vocabulary, I decided to email those that were in charge. This is where things became interesting.

This is the third one of these i've done and I kind of feel like I'm being unoriginal since Katherine Lowe does this kind of thing already, but I guess I need a place to reflect on my day, week or month and realise life isn't all that bad after all. I always get to the end of the week and say "Meh, this week was okay" when someone asks me how I am. Really what it boils down to is that, I don't know the beauty of it. I just flip everything inside out and toss out the good memories I've had throughout the week. It's not that I'm ungrateful, I am most grateful for still existing on this earth and everything I have, but I'm always so tired and drained from school that I don't even remember anything about the day after I fall asleep (Okay, maybe not entirely, but you get the jist of it?). I have to say that this month so far has been one of the most memorable moments - so many exciting things happened! I think that the best way for me to not drop the ball on good moments is to take pictures - people always say "Stop living from behind your screen" but I honestly can't, or i'll think my life is so not exciting because of the lack of evidence. I'll stop rambling - here is how my day, week or month has been.

So - I have a series called the 'FFS Series' (Favourite Fashion Shows Series) in which I tell you all about a fashion show and my favourite looks within it. As much as I love to write it, it think it may be easier for you to see what I love in photograph form so you don't have to read so much of me rambling on about what I did and didn't like about the show. Don't worry though, the FFS Series isn't going anywhere for those who love it. I guess I just want to reflect on what draws me into a photograph and learn from it - kind of like revising for school exams. Often times I look at the photograph and think "Woah, that's amazing!" then reblog it but I don't actually look at the lighting, the movements and how the photographer captures the clothing's best features. I want to be able to improve on my editorials and this is the best way to do it while sharing with you all my weekly rebloggings on Tumblr.
