This year has started off with such a high that I'm a little over excited for what's to come throughout the year. Being accepted into university is one exciting thing; I guess this is an official announcement isn't it? I was accepted in the University of Auckland and I plan on double majoring in Marketing and Management - that's if I don't fail my first semester. From taking a wee little NCEA exam to heading onto the heavy university stuff is pretty scary, take into consideration the work load, difficulty of each exam. What scares me the most is how much time I'll have to spare for blogging. At the start of last year, I told myself "I'm sure I won't be able to get into university, what with my lack of knowledge" but the truth of the matter is obvious, you take it step by step but most importantly: believe in yourself. How cliché does that sound? Let me tell you a story without sounding cliché through the whole thing, read on.
Apologies - I've been meaning to post this since August last year, but it's just been sitting there at the back, forgotten, 2015 blog clean up is commencing and I feel like this is the way to go. Enjoy the ever so late post, the fourth installation of my FFS Series. This show was shown during New York Fashion Week in 2014 so I thought I'd post this in celebration of NZFW in progress. This show has got to be my favourite show by Donna Karan/DKNY. Donna Karan's show settings are always classic and simple, but I love the twist here in terms of production. I love the amount of bass there is, giving and eerie and powerful beat to the walks. Background changes to make the outfits stand out while still having a display of her outfits in the background in an abstract way. I don't watch too many fashion shows just because of how busy life has gotten, so I haven't really seen anything like it - maybe it has already been done, I wouldn't know. Take a look at the video before you read on. 16 minutes; surely you have the time to spare?
2014 is no doubt, one of the best years of my life so far; It was the first year that I was able to show who I am, take a peek into the real world and discover who I really am. I started my blog in January last year, not fully committed to the blog until early March because I was still getting the hang of Year 13, the last year of High School. It was then that I saved up my money to buy my first Hourglass powder and I remember clearly that I was over the moon about that powder that I decided to make this blog a beauty blog. It was then after my first few posts that I couldn't make the commitment of having millions of similar products laying in my drawer never to be used again because let's face it, do I look like the type of girl who would wear make up every day? I'm sure if I got the same amount of products as other beauty bloggers out there, I wouldn't know what to do with them. I've always cared about fashion more than anyone else from a young age. I cared more about how I dressed than my grades at school which wasn't very wise, but I eventually balanced the both well. Here begins the journey of Nicrific.com. Take a look into the highlights of 2014 through my eyes; this is more of a self reflection than anything. Go get some water, this may be a long one.
