HOLY CHIC STUDIOS

Sunday 21 December 2014
Being the girl that's always on the hunt for new, affordable, fresh, high quality New Zealand labels, Holy Chic fit right into that lookout. What makes it even better? I'm all up for the cheeky puns. It's clear to people around me that you won't get by a conversation with me without me mentioning the driest pun you'll ever hear. I'm not sure who came up with this name 'Holy Chic', but I say genius. The face of Holy Chic, Maia Cotton (62/Chic/Ford), resembles the fun, teenage person we all are inside and I think the clothing reflects just that. There are pieces in this collection that I wouldn't exactly wear, but there are pieces that I would wear every day if I can - that's what makes this label what it is, something for everyone, whether that's in the style aspect, or the budget aspect. The pieces start at NZD$29 all the way up to $195 - As I said, something for everyone. Holy Chic can be found at The CO-OP located at 8 Northcroft Street, Takapuna (Next to The Department Store) and online. Take a look at my favourite pieces from this label, styled, modelled and edited by yours truly.

I was sent an email, introducing me to this label and so naturally, being the curious bean that I am, went over to the website. The two words that escaped me, holy shit. As soon as I saw the dress and sunglasses shown, I knew this had to be on the blog. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this dress perfect for any type of weather? It's made out of a leather-like fabric on the front top half and back of the dress, the rest feels like a soft blanket. On second thought, you don't need to correct me, I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I'm not a big fan of colour, which is why my eye shifted to this dress - but somehow, I think this dressed being paired with colour makes me love it even more. Maybe this is the start of Nicole and her colours; maybe not, this is the exception.
