Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 Ready to Wear (John Galliano)
Makeup: Gucci Westman
Hair styling: Orlando Pita

This beautiful fashion show is probably one of my favourite shows in the whole entire world - not to mention, this show includes the top models from all around the world. (Top models include: Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Daphne Groeneveld, Kasia Struss, Lindsay Wixson, Xiao Wen Ju & much more...) One thing you need to know about me as a general rule is that I love anything from Fall collections, beautiful and sophisticated, but elegant at the same time - It's what this designer, the legendary Oscar de la Renta has done. How hard is it to pull off that kind of a standard? Even the most fashion designers get it wrong sometimes - very wrong. This collection pulled off very bit of that standard. It's the perfect mix of glam without looking trashy/drag queen-ish (Excuse my choice of words there).

It's been a year since this collection was shown but this collection is still fresh and mesmerising to watch every time. I'm completely speechless about this collection, it's so gorgeous and perfect in every way. From memory, it's one of the first shows that ticked all the boxes for me. The whole time I was watching this show, I was just thinking, "Tick, tick, tick, tick. All the boxes are checked for 'my' perfect show". You'll notice I'm not going to be writing much because the photographs and video does a lot of talking for me. Things like this speaks for itself. Take a look at what I'm talking about.

The three dresses are the ones that really send my eyeballs shooting out when I watched the show. The amount of detail and tailoring that goes into these pieces are fantastic, you are able to tell how much effort these professionals took to get to this stage of these dresses. Colours, embellishments and fit of these are incredible.

The hats that you see above are incomparable. Everyone loves those big round hats we see in magazines, but Oscar de la Renta really pulled this off and should be seen more on the streets, even though it's not the 'normal' attire - but we should be taking risks right? That's how the fashion industry will go forward. Not only did he pull it off but it captured our attention as soon as the first look walked out in the opening. Stunning from top to bottom - Let me repeat, stunning.

Can we take a moment to talk about the styling? Oscar de la Renta and John Galliano payed so much attention to the accessories, makeup, hair and colour in which they all compliment each other. I love how Oscar de la Renta matched colour to colour because that's usually how I style myself. There's so much flow and shape to these pieces, the styling makes it even better and raises the bar up higher than the already-so-high bar - it's what everyone needs to learn from.

The makeup though?? Gucci Westman is such a genius.

If you thought "Oh god, I'm not going to watch that video, it's too long" I hope your mind has changed. Go watch the perfection that is this video. I'm incredibly jealous who got to watch this in person and I'm not even scared to admit it.
